RZA is Hypocritical, Wrong, and Dangerous on Police Brutality and Black Fashion

If you put a camera in someone’s face, you never know what you’ll get. RZA has long been respected in Hip Hop and music for his position at the head of the Wu Tang Clan. That respect is being tested after RZA made some very controversial remarks in a Bloomberg interview when questioned about the Black Lives Matter movement. “When you think about some of the brothers who are being brutalized by the police, you also got to have them take a look, and us take a look , in the mirror, at the image we portray. If I’m a...

NY’s Large Drink Ban, Where Do You Stand?

This week the New York City Board of Health, at the behest of Mayor Billionaire Bloomberg, approved a ban on large sugary drinks. Seeking to reduce runaway obesity rates, the New York City Board of Health on Thursday approved a ban on the sale of large sodas and other sugary drinks at restaurants, street carts and movie theaters, the first restriction of its kind in the country. The measure, which bars the sale of many sweetened drinks in containers larger than 16 ounces, is to take effect on March 12, unless it is blocked by a judge. – nytimes.com Health...

Bloomberg backs down on Occupy Wall Street “cleaning” eviction

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, billionaire (roughly $18 billion) and 13th richest person in the United States, announced a few days ago that the Wall Street occupiers needed to leave for a few days so that the park could be “cleaned”. Brookfield Properties, the owner of the park, said the park had become unsanitary since the occupation began so it needed to be power washed. Ok, fair enough on the park needing to be cleaned. That many people in such a closed space will cause that to be necessary. However they apparently weren’t extending the fairness of assumption of...

NY’s Billionaire Mayor Bloomberg Says Occupy Wall Street Is Trying To Destroy Jobs

Yes you read the title right. On his weekly radio show, Bloomberg said the Occupy Wall Street protests “aren’t productive” and not good for tourism. Wall Street is the pillar of the New York state economy, making up 13 percent of tax contributions. “The protests that are trying to destroy the jobs of working people in this city aren’t productive,” Bloomberg said. Michael Bloomberg is apparently clueless or just wants to ignore reality. The protesters are rallying against corruption in those jobs. What I’d like to ask the Mayor is how good is the greed and corruption in those industries...

Faith Leaders Among Those Banned From 9/11 10 Year Anniversary Memorial Ceremony

When NYC Mayor Bloomberg throws a party the guest list is more exclusive than a White House affair apparently. Bloomberg is very adamant about the 10 year Anniversary of the September 11 tragedy Memorial Ceremony be strictly about those that died and the families who lost loved one’s that day. As such, survivors of 9/11 are not invited, first responders are not invited and also apparently clergy have been banned from the event. Expectedly, the church isn’t to happy about this. Bloomberg’s barring participation by faith leaders in the city’s 10th anniversary service has sparked protests from a variety of...
